Dino Martens: Muranese Glass Designer, Catalogue of Work by Marc Heiremans,
Dino Martens has undoubtedly made one of the most substantial contributions to the 20th century revival of glass-making in Murano. Born in 1894, Martens began his career in 1924 and was active for 40 years. He worked in numerous Murano glass factories, but his most important work was done for Aureliano Toso. The Catalogue of Work is divided into three sections. First, over 180 objects and original drawings from all periods of the artist's work are explained. The second section represents the first complete publication of the work Martens produced for Aureliano Toso (1938-1963). The third section comprises 224 historical archive photos. Designed to facilitate assured attribution of glass to Dino Martens via form, designs and techniques, this is the definitive catalogue of his work.

Still Life with June
Still Life with June
"The people in gay bars on Christmas Day are so desperate for basic human contact that they'd go home with a Doc Marten shoe if it made a move, and maybe even if it didn't. So begins the story of Cameron Dodds, a disenfranchised writer who visits gay bars on Christmas and works at a Salvation Army Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in order to steal the stories of the people he meets there. But when Cameron finds a patient hanged in the utilities closet, his infatuation with other people's stories becomes an obsession. Assuming the man's identity, Cameron seeks out and forges a relationship with the victim's mentally challenged sister, who lives in a home uptown. As Cameron becomes more involved in the woman's life, he begins to discover truths that will challenge him to the very core of his existence.

Australian work boots - Australian work boots (or generically elastic-sided boots) are a unique style of work shoe, typically constructed with a leather upper bound together with elastic sides and pull tabs on the front and back of the boot. The shoe lacks a tongue, and laces, and sometimes contains a steel toe cap for occupational health and safety reasons.

Doc Cheatham - Adolphus Anthony Cheatham, much better known as Doc Cheatham (13 June, 1905 - 2 June, 1997) was a jazz trumpeter, singer, and bandleader. While a reliable player in some of the top jazz groups from the 1920s on, Cheatham's career enjoyed an unusual flowering of renewed creativity and acclaim in his later decades; Doc himself agreed with the critical assessment that he was probably the only jazz musician to create his best work after the age of 70.

Doc Frankenstein - Doc Frankenstein (published 2004 to present) is a comic book created and written by the Wachowski Brothers (Andy and Larry, better known for their work on The Matrix) and drawn by artist Steve Skroce. The book is published bimonthly by Burlyman Entertainment, though recently they have fallen behind this deadline quite a bit (most likely because of the Wachowski Brother's involvement in the film adaptation of V for Vendetta).

Boot polish boy - Boot polish boys are children who work at railway platforms in India. Their "business" is to polish people's shoes, and they charge very little for it.
